Encore Dance Fundraising CROP Sept 21, 2013

I'm back.....Let me just say that it has not been a nice Summer for my family or I and leave it at that!

My daughter, sister and I attended the best run crop on the weekend. Lots of wonderful sponsors and prizes,( that's you, Ann aka the runner) great food and raffles, door prizes and entertainment (that's you, Christa). This is the 3rd year we have attended this fundraising Dance crop and look forward to it all year long.

I completed two projects from the sketches supplied (for extra prize tickets , of course)

A card sketch by Joanne Burton

and  a layout sketch by Laura Whitaker

and for the On-Line Crop "Around the World" from Two Scrapbook friends

I used a sketch from Two Broke Girls, Sugar and Spice Sept challenges.

and then a

sketch by Shelby, Two Scrapbook Friends designer and very talented lady.

That's all for now,  I have some partially completed layouts to finish.

Scraplift? Blog?

Let's Connect On-Line Crop

In Christa's Words

Since I have been scrapbooking in earnest, I have enjoyed blogging and visiting the blogs of my scrappy friends. I find those blogs a great source of inspiration and it undoubtedly gets my 'mojo' flowing!

For our online crop I drew the "BLOG" card and wanted to share with you a challenge inspired by the concept of staying connected through BLOGS.

The biggest way to be inspired by BLOGS is to used the idea of a "SCRAPLIFT". Who hasn't been inspired by a technique or a sketch on a blog? Since I visit many many many blogs in the course of a week, I wanted to encourage you to do the same!

I challenge you to VISIT one of the DESIGN TEAM'S blogs and choose a design to scraplift. In order to satisfy the challenge you will need to:

1. Create an original never before seen design based on a creation from Carolyn, Joanne, Shelby, Christa, Ann, Jayne or Amanda's blogs

I chose to scraplift from Joanne's blog  http://ilovesketches.blogspot.ca/
(I picked Christa to scraplift last time).

My Son

As I age, I think more and more about the age of my children. To me they will always be my babies but of course my youngest is now 39 or 39  1/2 as my granddaughter would say when she was 6 1/2.
Half  years are important to the young. I try not to think about it at my age .

Anyway the result is I made this layout for my son who will soon turn 40.
(not til March, he would say)

My Family: 5 for 5 challenge

Our Family together ... Bliss
Another challenge under my belt.
Sharlene supplied 5 items for 5 scrappers to come up with a project.
I decided on a layout this time around, previously I did an ATC or a card.

The photos are my children and grandchildren. Sorry the photo is not the best, there was a little problem getting a picture and the page got mangled. I should have redone the page but there you have it wrinkles and all. Just think of it as being distressed on purpose.

The five items were the pearls, the brown striped ribbon, the small chipboard butterfly which I covered in yellow paper , the red sticker (under the pearls) and the dot and striped paper which was one piece I cut and used both sides. I added the blue strip, the mat under the photo and the red piece which I used a scalloped border punch. The title is October Afternoon letters and the Chipboard title is crate paper. The doily is cut with a die cut machine and the background is misted in Yellow and Red Mr Hueys. The red dot paper is Pebbles. The large butterfly and twine was in my stash bin.
5 for 5 Items supplied

Layout based on a Shimelle Laine workshop page using the 5 for 5 items supplied.

Have a great day!

My Weekend pages for NSD 2012

I went to a crop on the weekend for National Scrapbooking Day and took 3 bags less than usual!
oops! left half the stuff I needed at home.! So today I had some time to finish the pages and here they are:

Use A Gift Card challenge by Sharlene...
The only card I had is one from Michaels ...can you find it?

My granddaughter received a kit to paint a birdhouse and assemble it.
Craft Time with Emma 2011
I had the BoBunny paper and the photos and was not settled what to do with the layout until I saw a sample with this paper at Scrapfest using the film strip and since we received one in our goody bag I decided to use it here. Sorry I can't remember where I saw the layout to credit the designer, but if you see it here comment below to tell us!

Tree Challenge by Shelby
Get Punchy Challenge by Sharlene

My grandson does not like his picture taken most days but this was a good day.
He was excited that the snow was gone and spring is almost here.

2008 Her first Catch
My granddaughter loves to fish with her Dad. The title Fisher Girl refers to her pink fishing pole. and the whale of a fishing story to her version of catching her first fish at the age of almost 3 in 2008.

Sketches on left by Jayne and on right by Shelby.
