NEW BBQ dinner menu challenge

I combined the Get Out the BBQ Menu challenge at Two Scrapbook Friends with the
at 2 Broke Girls scrap March Word  challenge

http://2brokegirlsscraps.forumotion.com/t78-the-last-bite-word-challenge

Good morning and welcome to the first word challenge (aka The Last Bite) for 2 Broke Girls.

It's a nice easy one to begin with. Simply create a layout (traditional or digi), card or other project using the word NEW in your title.

This is the result:

New Lacrosse Shoes March 2013

For the full menu selection see the blog forum at :

http://twoscrapbookfriends.0forum.biz/t4595-dig-out-that-bbq-menu-challenge-menu-items-are-up

Menu challenge as posted by Christa...

Spring is officially here . It always makes me think of getting outside, raking leaves, diffing out that BBQ and enjoying how everything is green-ing up!
In honour of these outdoorsy feelings (yes, I do have them occasionally) I thought we'd challenge you to a BBQ themed Menu challenge.

For those of you who don't know how they work, here's the 'skinny':

I will list several BBQ dinner items below. You must choose a minimum of 5 items from the list. Once you have made your choices, list them below in your own post.

On March 18th, I will add the Scrappy Items that correspond to each food item. Once you have the scrappy items that correspond to your BBQ menu list, you create a layout or altered item or card with those items.

My selections are highlighted and resulted in a nice mixture :

8. Potatoes with parsley: Use washi tape
13. Corn on the cob: Use three seperate sized photos
14. Grilled Asparagus with prosciutto: Use red
17. Bratwurst Sausage on a Ben: Use one manufacturuer for all your papers (except Card stock)
19. Hamburger sliders with Cheddar and Bacon: Use the negative of a shape (ie the cut part of a die cut or a font.)

I used a cricut cut from Nate's ABC's cartridge for the negative cut of a shape. (alpha in my case)
The One manufacturer I chose  is Simple Stories...combination of  3 collections.. 24/7, Life Documented and 100 Days of Summer.
Use Red..Simple Stories Alphas Stickers and arrow and  red mist on background.
Use Washi tape...I used 3 different colours and design of washi tape in 3 areas on the page.
And the 3 different size photos are 1- 4 x 6 , 1- 1 3/4 " circle and 1-2 1/4 " circle.

Hope you enjoy....I had fun doing this page.

My Son

As I age, I think more and more about the age of my children. To me they will always be my babies but of course my youngest is now 39 or 39  1/2 as my granddaughter would say when she was 6 1/2.
Half  years are important to the young. I try not to think about it at my age .

Anyway the result is I made this layout for my son who will soon turn 40.
(not til March, he would say)

Product Challenge

I have been working on a couple of challenges with a deadline of May 31. The 5 for 5 which I can not show you until release day and the product challenge.

The Product Challenge for May included the die cut camera, scallopped circle, two chipboard flowers , 2 leaves and 2 - 6 x 12 pieces of Simple Stories paper from the fabulous collection (My guess). It also included the pink ric-rac ribbon and the dark brown 12 x12 cardstock and a few small buttons.

So when I went looking for pictures I realized that Emma's skirt almost matched the flowered patterned paper so that is how I selected the photos. I added the alphas and a few buttons and the side pink strip.

Hope you like it....That's all for today...Have a good one!

Scrapfest 2012

Here are my scrapping family ....

my daughter, sister and I at Scrapfest Kitchener 2012

Jo-Ann, Janet & I at Scrapfest 2012

I used the patterned background for Shimelle's challenge using busy paper and the 5 for 5 for Two Scrapbbok Friends challenge from Shelby.  Shelby supplied the striped paper, the bird paper, the happy pin, the brown paper flower and the green circle. Normally I would make a card with these items but decided at the last minute to make a page with our photo by Sue Sykes from Scrapfest.

My 2011 Christmas Cards ...Part Two

My daughter attended a card workshop at Stamping Bella for these wonderful cards. I got a kit of the cards also. This is the first time I used Prism pencils. and I love the result. Of course my cards are not as nice as the originals but I love the Prism on the kraft. All the ribbons and lace was supplied also. (and the bows were tied for me)

These are 2 of shaker cards from a Two Scrapbook Friends workshop

This card was a make 'n take at Scrapfest Oshawa at the  Scrapbook & Cards Today  booth.
I mailed some cards before I thought to take pictures. I do like to remember what styles, paper collections I have used. What I liked and which ones I will never make again. I never make them all the same, I don't like to do the same design over and over.

Some of the cards are kits and some are my own design. I tried to remember to explain the origin of the cards, but if I forgot anyone, my apologies.  I did the cards over a few months and my memory is not what it should be.
 Hope you like them.

A Scrapbooking Weekend

This is one of the pages I did on Saturday with Simple Stories collection . I do love Simple Stories! Leaves are cut with Silhouette and tag cut with Cricut. I spend the weekend scrapbooking. Saturday was at Two Scrapbook Friends in Waterloo.at a 10 hour crop with Carolyn showing us some CHA new products and giving some away. I won some of the American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection and some BoBunny Welcome Home and BoBunny stamps. A great haul. Thanks ladies. Had a great time with a wonderful bunch of ladies including my sister.
On Sunday, I went to Scrapping Turtle for their Open house and one year anniversary for their new store. Karen from Your Next Stamp was at the store demo'ing her new Die that matches her stamp. Great idea. Here's my make 'n takes from Sunday. The Christmas card is using Karen's new die and stamp.Karen used the Sizzix Big Shot for her die cuts. The flower card was designed by Noel ( I believe) using the Grand Cailber die cut machine and the journal cover called "inspired" using AC Amy Tangerine collection by another Turtle designer. (sorry I did not get her name) using the revolution die cut machine and i-rock on the rhinestones over the "i" .in inspired. (Click on photo to make larger to see details.) Another fun day, and a great way to spend the weekend !
