Scraplift? Blog?

Let's Connect On-Line Crop

In Christa's Words

Since I have been scrapbooking in earnest, I have enjoyed blogging and visiting the blogs of my scrappy friends. I find those blogs a great source of inspiration and it undoubtedly gets my 'mojo' flowing!

For our online crop I drew the "BLOG" card and wanted to share with you a challenge inspired by the concept of staying connected through BLOGS.

The biggest way to be inspired by BLOGS is to used the idea of a "SCRAPLIFT". Who hasn't been inspired by a technique or a sketch on a blog? Since I visit many many many blogs in the course of a week, I wanted to encourage you to do the same!

I challenge you to VISIT one of the DESIGN TEAM'S blogs and choose a design to scraplift. In order to satisfy the challenge you will need to:

1. Create an original never before seen design based on a creation from Carolyn, Joanne, Shelby, Christa, Ann, Jayne or Amanda's blogs

I chose to scraplift from Joanne's blog  http://ilovesketches.blogspot.ca/
(I picked Christa to scraplift last time).

My Son

As I age, I think more and more about the age of my children. To me they will always be my babies but of course my youngest is now 39 or 39  1/2 as my granddaughter would say when she was 6 1/2.
Half  years are important to the young. I try not to think about it at my age .

Anyway the result is I made this layout for my son who will soon turn 40.
(not til March, he would say)

Board Games

This layout came about from a conversation with my granddaughter that she was bored. So Grandpa suggested he teach her how to play a new game. She gets excited when she plays and ended up getting closer and closer to the board eventually ending up on the table and cheering when she won!.

Here's the results on my layout....

One Hour On Line Crop at the BUG

I entered a One Hour On Line Crop at the Scrapping Bug. A little too hectic for me. This time it was a Sketch which was not so bad as the last one I did called for a few different things.

Anyway here it is finished in 50 minutes (I was late finding the challenge...did not realize it would a separate thread.)

My Baby Brother and the Last Sketchy Thursday

Sketchy Thursday is retiring.

This is the last sketch. So sorry to see them go but understand the reason.. I wish them all the  best in the future.

My brother turns 50 on Jan 26 2012.
This page is a picture of him at 1 year and a recent one. Obviously he had more curly hair in the baby picture. I have poker straight hair and both my brothers had curly hair. Go figure!

I used the January kit from Studio Calico. The colours  looks great with the photo. I even recycled...the mat under the photo is the reverse of a shipping tag.!

,
So here is my tribute to him and Sketchy Thursday.

The Accidental Tourist

Here's the  July sketch from Two Scrapbook Friends site. The sketch was selected by TSF DT member Dr J (Sharon)   from the STUCK! site (May sketch)  (http://stucksketches.blogspot.com/)
It's funny sometimes you see a sketch and know what you are going to use it for immediately. That's it for this one, I had these 2 small 2 x 3 pictures of Buckingham palace and the palace guard that my son took and this story to go with it but didn't know how I was going to use it until I saw this sketch. Fate!

The page is more than the photos, it is a story of an incident in our son's working life in Europe.

I used moxie diecuts, Studio calico papers, Sassafras paper and alphas.
